A weird giant prehistoric shark, which people thought already got extinct for more than 20 million years, has been caught by local fishermen just off the coast of Pakistan.

The giant shark was initially thought to be a great white shark, however, it was rapidly declared by experts as an unknown species of a shark because it's weight and size has never been heard before. The weird prehistoric shark's teeth was analyzed and suggests that it's a parent of the Megalodon, an extinct species of shark who lived approximately 28 to 1.5 million years ago (Cenozoic Era).

The weird creature measures 10.4 meters and weighs 15.6 tons and makes it the largest living shark ever caught. Great white sharks usually reaches just up to 7 tons at full growth which is no match to this bizarre giant prehistoric shark that is possible to reach up to 20 meters in length and 30 tons in weight.

More than 20 fishermans grouped together and hauled the giant shark onto the shore before heavy machinery came.
"This is an incredible opportunity to work on a real specimen instead of trying to figure out the whole picture from different fossil composites," said by Smithsonian paleontologist, Jeff Mayor.

The huge shark's findings says that it is not fully grown and is estimated to be just 2 or 3 years old.

Autopsy says that the giant shark lives under great depths and feeds on giant squid and other fishes that are not commonly found near the surface. The discovery makes it even more incredible to experts.
"Are rising sea temperatures forcing these beasts to come up closer to the shores or was this animal simply hurt and suffering from a disorienting handicap, these questions are left unanswered," local marine biologist, Rajar Muhammar mentioned.

The strange giant shark had an amazing 276 teeth in it's jaws, spanning 5 rows with it's biggest tooth measuring an incredible 15 cm length.

This great discovery raised great enthusiasm from experts who are pondering the fact that other thought to be extinct species might still be dwelling in the deepest part of the seas.
"This is very exciting news for the future of ocean exploration as technology is permitting us to go deeper and deeper everyday," as told by marine biologist Suzan Chopper from the University of Sydney, Australia. "I just don't know how well our submarines would do againts a giant monster like this," she mentioned.
