I know most of us likes Spam. It's been on our eating table for a very long time now whether it's stuffed in bread, viand with your favorite rice or just snacks while watching movies and such. Eating Spam is really easy, however, opening a can of it can take a little bit of your efforts. That's why Hormel Foods Corporation made an announcement on Wednesday that they will start producing Spam Snacks (Spam in a small bag). This Spam Snacks consist of bite-sized pieces of Spam. Nice, right?
Rick Williamson, manager of external communications for Hormel, told The Huffington Post that the small pieces of dried Spam will be available in select regions later this fall. They will come in bacon, teriyaki and classic flavors.
"These fun-to-eat Spam brand product snacks are a perfect complement to the fast-growing dried meat snacking category," said James Splinter, group vice president of Hormel’s grocery products, during a presentation with Hormel’s investors. "Spam Snacks will be available in limited geographies this summer as we are now in the process of introducing this to the marketplace.”
Reportedly, Spam Snacks contain 8 to 10 grams of protein per serving. Though no nutritional information is being disclosed yet at the moment, Spam in a can contains 6 ingredients: sodium chloride (salt), pork shoulder and ham, potato starch, water, sodium nitrate and sugar.
