In the Medieval Era, metal would be driven through the corpse or dead body to stop a bad person rising from the dead and terrorize the living, based from an archeologist who unearthed the vampire skeleton.
A traveling archeologist, Professor Nikolai Ovcharov, who has dedicated his entire life shedding light on ancient civilizations, made the amazing discovery while unearthing the ruins of Perperikon (an ancient city located in Southern Bulgaria).
Perperikon was only discovered 20 years ago but people thought it has been inhabited since 5,000 BC.

"Often they were applied to people who died in unusual circumstances - such as suicide."
